Stories of Little Animals, by Lenore E. Mulets

This central design was used on several titles in Mulets' "Princess Series" (or "Phyllis' Field Friends" series) books, including Tree Stories. Someone else almost certainly designed the surrounding animals. Below is a color variant with the variant series title (which also appears on the spine above!).  Curiously this same central design (but not credited to Sacker) was re-used by the publisher Cupples and Leon in 1917 for books in Minnie Paull's "Ruby and Ruthy" series, including  Ruby at School .
