Minute Boys of Lexington spine                   Estes edition Minute Boys of Lexington                                Estes monogram

The Minute Boys of Lexington, by Edward Statemeyer [1862-1930]

        Estes and Lauriat,  1898                      (later,  L. C. Page & Co., 1912)

A version in green also exists (see botton of page). The later L. C. Page edition (see below)  retains the same design, but eliminates the added color found in the britches and hats of these earlier versions. A similar evolution in design occurs with The Minute Boys of the Green Mountains.

[  I would like to thank Paul Camp, of the Special Collections Department at the University of South Florida Library, for the images of the scarce first edition cover. ]

Curiously, recent reprints of this title have used Amy's cover design for The Minute Boys of Bunker Hill instead of this one.
